Job Description

The Eastern Irrigation District (EID), Brooks, Alberta, seeks a full time HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC to
join our shop team.


The Heavy Duty Mechanic, reporting to the Shop Supervisor, works alongside 2 other divisional team
members. This position is responsible for servicing and organizing all repairs on EID heavy duty
equipment including heavy duty trucks, gravel trucks, and trailers.

The individual must have a broad set of qualifications and skills, including, but not
limited to:
• Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years experience.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize
multiple tasks, produce accurate results, and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to work independently as well as productively
and cooperatively in a team environment.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license required; Alberta Class 1 or 3 with air brake endorsement
an asset.
