You are a Certified Electrician who knows the ins and outs of keeping a mill's machinery up and running. You assist in the critical role of installing, maintaining, and modifying all electrical distribution systems on site. You have a natural ability to diagnose and repair mill motors and you're looking to expand your knowledge with an amazing company where safety and sustainability are the most important priorities. We're seeking a Certified Electrician for our Acheson, AB Remanufacturing facility, where you can utilize your Red Seal technical expertise, knowledge of PLCs and a couple of years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

The life of the Certified Electrician includes:

  • You will work with a high-performance team dedicated to maintaining all mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings, and pneumatic systems involved in the manufacturing process
  • You will keep our systems running smoothly by performing preventative and predictive maintenance
  • This includes inspecting machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • You manage your time effectively by assessing carefully and can distinguish when to assemble, move, replace, or dismantle machinery
  • You will apply your knowledge, skills, and experience to troubleshoot issues, boost equipment reliability, and implement safe, reliable fixes to keep the site running
  • You have great attention to detail to utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects
  • You utilize your acumen to Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears
  • You are accountable for assisting in a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors on site with good housekeeping
  • Other duties, related to the position, will be assigned as required

For this role, you come equipped with:
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in industrial maintenance
  • Journeyperson Certificate, red seal considered an asset but not required
  • Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work between day and afternoon shift as required by the schedule
  • High degree of urgency
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers
  • Superior troubleshooting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process is an asset
