KPMG Canada is seeking a highly experienced Azure Application Architect to join Advisory services to help our clients achieve their goals by leveraging their deep industry knowledge and technical expertise. As an Azure Application Architect, you will play a critical role in delivering Azure based projects and client engagements that solve real-world business problems.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to articulate the benefits of Microsoft Azure solutions to clients from both a business and technical perspective. You will also need to have experience providing technical leadership and guidance to delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions align with clients' needs. In addition, you will draw on your industry knowledge and relationships to identify and develop new opportunities.

What you will do
  • Lead the planning, design, development and implementation of enterprise applications on the Microsoft Azure platform, including application modernization and migration
  • Perform solution shaping including estimation, solution planning and SOW creation to meet customer requirements and outcome.
  • Support pre-sales efforts by providing product, technical, and business expertise for proposals, customer presentations and/or tailored software demonstrations
  • Coach and mentor a young and talented delivery team, proving them with leadership, knowledge, support and experience
  • Act as SME and advisor for our clients on Application Modernization
  • Stay up to date with new products, technologies and trends on the market
What you bring to the role
  • 12+ years of proven experience in IT consulting environment or equivalent
  • 10+ years of proven experience with C# and .Net framework including .Net Core
  • 5+ years of proven experience in designing and developing Web and API-based applications
  • Strong cloud development experience to build modern applications for clients with emphasis on microservices and serverless capabilities (Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Web API, Service Bus, Event Grid, AKS, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of foundational Azure services (compute, storage, identity and access management, integration, mobile & web, monitoring tools etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps including CI/CD tools, and automation
  • Experience with scoping, estimating, cost analysis and resource planning of projects
  • Experience working with Agile principles for Software development and Project Management
  • Good business acumen and ability to translate commercial requirements into technical solutions including ability to communicate technical concepts and their impact to stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in database technologies, both SQL (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL Database) and NoSQL (e.g., Cosmos DB, MongoDB)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates
  • Understanding of security best practices and implementation, including data encryption, authentication, and authorization
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization of cloud-based applications
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior developers and architects
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Certifications in relevant technologies such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar
