As the Manager, Office of Strategy Management (OSM) , you will lead the OSM team in providing oversight and guidance in corporate and divisional strategic planning, strategy management (development, evaluation, and assurance), strategy consulting practices, and growing enterprise-wide strategy knowledge. You'll work closely with enterprise-wide business partners on cross divisional initiatives and divisional planning.

This is a tremendous opportunity for those with an interest in business strategy to provide advice and guidance to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on enterprise strategy, programs, and initiatives.

Where you'll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you will work primarily from our Richmond Office with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.

As Manager, Office of Strategy Management, you will:
  • Effectively communicate, influence others, build consensus and trust, and work collaboratively across the organization to attain strategic objectives and deliverables.
  • Lead and direct a team of advisors/analysts within the Office of Strategy Management.
  • Manage senior-level strategy and planning work including business planning and regular strategy reviews at the enterprise and divisional levels.
  • Align Senior Leadership Team priorities with strategic goals and initiatives, while also ensuring measurability.
  • Partner with divisional leadership teams to report on results to the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
  • Advise and support senior divisional leaders on priorities and key issues.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making for OSM initiatives and projects.
  • Develop measures and report out on Policy and Regulation changes.
  • Develop impact assessments that report out on impacts of changes to the organizations operating environment.
  • Support the development and execution of divisional plans and objectives.
  • Promote collaboration and ensure continuous monitoring of departmental measures and budgets.
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis of business operations and strategy performance.
  • Strong business acumen, a passion for and understanding of business strategy and business model concepts and frameworks.
  • Effectively communicate, influence others, build consensus and trust, and work collaboratively to attain objectives and deliverables.
  • Forward thinking, with a strong ability to understand business models, and identify how emerging trends may impact an organizations strategy.
  • Embrace and understand the importance of looking both externally and internally for leading indicators of change.
  • Influence with exceptional relationship building and conflict resolution skills, and an understanding of the diverse needs and interests of our stakeholders.
  • Think and act strategically, recognize how to link disparate information to, weigh options for delivering on organizational strategies and plans.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with abilities to use reporting and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes effectively to measure and ensure success. Create a supportive work environment by ensuring effective communication, promoting teamwork and collaboration, providing opportunities for employee involvement and growth, and recognizing staff contributions and achievements.
Your background and experience
  • A graduate degree in the field of Business Administration (e.g. MBA) or equivalent, and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of related experience, or a comparable combination of educational and work experience.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in business strategy, data analysis, strategic planning, business analysis and/or management consulting.
  • Demonstrated practical leadership skills, including the ability to manage a high performing team, build positive and productive relationships, and gain credibility to effectively lead cross functional/organization teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Well-developed presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Experience leading and managing a team is an asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

Salary: $127,804 - $155,281/annually
