What you can expect do here:
- Lead and manage the design and delivery of airfield and airport civil engineering projects in Canada and internationally.
- Mentor and support the professional growth of intermediate and junior staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
- Provide technical leadership in the design of airfield pavements, site grading, drainage, and airside infrastructure using Civil 3D and AviPlan.
- Oversee engineering investigations, technical analyses, and the preparation of comprehensive reports and recommendations.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets while maintaining strong communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop specifications, Plan of Construction Operations (PCOs), and preliminary cost estimates.
- Support business development by preparing proposals, engaging in client presentations, and contributing to strategic pursuits.
- Conduct field inspections during construction phases, including travel to project sites (some in remote locations).
What you'll bring to WSP:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada (or the ability to obtain this designation within a reasonable timeframe).
- 10+ years of experience in airfield, municipal, or civil engineering design, with significant experience in airport infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor intermediate and junior staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AviPlan, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong technical expertise in airfield pavement design, grading, and drainage.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to project sites, including remote locations, as required.
- Secret clearance on federal Canadian projects is an asset.
