Job Description:
Provides a broad range of systems / application support, research and analysis, administration, performance availability monitoring and management for own area.
CUSTOMER
- Perform controlled resolution of incidents and problems including prioritization and escalation liaising with business and technology partners as appropriate
- Service applications / systems and provide a level of application/ systems/ operational availability that meets or exceeds established standards/service levels, while minimizing operational risk
- Partner with key stakeholders to schedule changes of supported components in accordance with the approved change management procedures; implement changes with proper testing, stakeholder signoff, monitoring and with minimal impact to the business
- Continuously strive to improve the stability of production environment by partnering closely with key stakeholders on setting up, maintaining and monitoring applications/systems, ensuring availability targets are met
- Provide effective day-to-day support for applications/systems through accurate problem identification and timely resolution of production issues; perform controlled and timely resolution of incidents while prioritizing and monitoring client satisfaction
- Ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, options and recommendations
- Deliver effective and defect-free support, researching system issues / opportunities, overseeing the execution of recommendations, and maintaining accurate documentation
- Identify and address application and data issues and cross-capability and cross-release issues that affect application integrity
- Act as partner in scheduling, packaging and releasing new applications and manage all application releases according to approved governance and gating criteria
- Responsible for incident management (2nd level), monthly maintenance, state of health monitoring, and SLA maintenance
- Provide effective day-to-day production support for applications through accurate problem identification and timely resolution of production issues
- Improve stability of the production environment by assisting in setting up, maintaining and monitoring applications/system
SHAREHOLDER
- Monitor the performance of the environment by using meaningful metrics
- Provide Disaster Recovery support by assisting in defining / reviewing disaster recovery plans and by participating in testing
- Assess and analyze optimization opportunities to the operational environment to improve performance and/or resource utilization
- Ensure effective change management discipline is used
- Adhere to existing processes/standards, business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines; plan, monitor and escalate issues as required
- Identify/implement process improvements to enhance revenue, customer experience and/or reduce costs
- Comply with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines
- Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
- May perform testing according to test plans, monitor and report on results, and work with others on problem resolution

BREADTH & DEPTH:
- Performs work on all aspects of the application/system support
- May act as a reference for team members or clients
- Tasks are moderate to highly complex and performed under minimal management supervision
- Actively involved in resolving client applications issues
- May configure, upgrade, administer business applications in coordination with appropriate stakeholders
- May develop scripts using appropriate tools to address gaps in the application/system, to simplify and enhance the application/system environment
- Performs problem determination including data gathering and analysis
- Reports to a Practice lead
- Works within a Platform POD
- Utilize JMeter to conduct performance test Executions on various applications, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and issues.
- Subject matter expert and consults with clients, team, and/or project team to provide technical guidance and highly complex troubleshooting/problem resolution
- Research industry standards, best practices and new innovations in technology and makes recommendations
- Advanced knowledge of the business, the broader organization, technical environment, processes, procedures, tools and other relevant technology areas (e.g. Architecture, Infrastructure, Security etc.) from a design / support / solutions perspective
- Ability to identify issues and gaps, and keep on top of emerging industry trends in the SRE discipline
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Track record of leading successful large scale engagements with end to end Performance testing/engineering experience
- 3+ years of Performance Testing/Monitoring of Web Applications
- Proficiency in various scripting techniques, develop custom codes for enhancing and customizing performance testing scripts and scenarios using JMeter where applicable
- Must be able to code with a programming language using standard software development practices like unit testing and iterative development
- Possess good knowledge in network and edge technologies
- Demonstrate excellent Linux fundamentals and solid understanding of diagnosing system utilization
- Experience working with Agile methodologies
- Possess excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence others
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline for performance testing
- Experience with Performance test framework development and automation
- Experience working with large scale distributed systems & large data volumes
- Experience with some of the following technologies and services:
- Cloud based Infrastructure as a Service (especially Azure)
- Container based service schedulers (e.g., Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, etc.)
- MySQL, Java, Python
- Performance tools like JMeter, Loadrunner etc.
- Log management tools (Splunk)
- Monitoring systems (Prometheus, Dynatrace, Datadog)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose performance issues and propose effective solutions
- Ability to take up additional responsibilities and mandates like Chaos Engineering, Observability, etc., towards the transitioning to a SRE role
- Able to define data strategy and collaborate with the Test Data Management team to generate on-demand data.
- Expertise in adopting In house client side performance testing tools like UX Engine to measure End User Experience, wherever applicable
- Experience in developing Virtual Services using Mountebank for all Performance testing requirements
