Job Description
A career in our International Tax Desk practice, within International Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help multinational companies address their cross border tax needs both locally and globally by managing their global tax rates, finding areas of cost reduction, and responding to inquiries from regulatory authorities. You'll gain a global perspective and an awareness of tax issues stemming from changes to evolving business structures and geographic expansions.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a U.S. Tax Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• U.S. Corporate Federal and state income tax compliance
• U.S. tax provision preparation/U.S. tax provision review
• Tax research at the federal and state level. This could include drafting of memos and technical analysis related to specific client matters
• Preparation or review of other tax related calculations, i.e. IRC 382 or earnings and profit calculations
• Use feedback and reflection to develop self awareness, personal strengths and address development areas.
• Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities, coaching them to deliver results.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems.
• Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends.
• Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance.
Experience and skills you'll need to solve
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business;
• Experience with U.S Federal and state tax matters, including tax research;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Go Systems tax preparation software is desirable;
• Experience with research platforms such as Checkpoint, BNA or CCH considered an asset;
• Strong written and oral communication abilities, interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment;
• Good analytical and organizational skills.
