As a senior driver and contributor on the Carbon Advisory team, the Vice President works directly with clients and is responsible for structuring and completing technical projects, identifying market opportunities for our clients, and providing tangible steps to bridge any gaps to cutting edge problems for our carbon advisory services. The Vice President, Carbon Advisory is highly skilled in quantitative analysis and modelling with deep subject matter expertise in carbon programs and regulations, emissions quantification , and carbon and environmental commodities . This role will act as a key technical and quantitative lead for projects and be responsible for the quality and on-time delivery and communication of complex technical concepts in commercially actiona l ways to clients. This role is pivotal in progressing data-driven decision-making and supporting strategic initiatives with the team.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards. Key Accountabilities
- Provide technical and quantitative oversight and delivery across project types, including senior review and technical capacity building amongst the team.
- Conduct emissions and financial quantitative modeling and analyses for existing and emerging technologies and project types.
- Perform carbon offset quantification protocol analyses, technical evaluations and reports for clients.
- Leverage subject matter expertise to enable innovative and creative client solutions.
- Oversee regulatory and programmatic reviews and evaluations of projects to support client mandates.
- Assess, evaluate, and advise clients on carbon market, environmental commodity and regulatory opportunities.
- Provide subject matter expertise for first-of-its-kind projects, leveraging innovative approaches for environmental impact accounting.
- Assist in the successful delivery of government engagement client mandates, including quantitative analyses and industrial operations technical understanding and expertise to inform positioning.
- Support business development including interpreting and anticipates client needs into successful scopes of work, work breakdown schedules and associated budgets as needed.
- Minimum of eight ( 8 ) years of relevant experience - engineering or a similar field.
- Deep technical and quantitative knowledge related to carbon market and programs , environmental commodity projects , and policy and regulations.
- Thorough analytical and technically profici ency in greenhouse gas quantification and management .
- Strong proficiency in quantitative analysis and modelling techniques including a proven track record of developing and implementing quantitative models.
- Experience with data analysis software and programming languages (e.g., VBA, Python, SQL).
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail .
- Comfort and ability to navigate white space and bring structure to complex problems and topics.
- Proven ability to interpret and translate complex data into clear and actional insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - enjoys presenting complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Open-minded and creative with the ability to exercise judgement to identify, diagnose and solve problems within given rules.
- Advanced p roject management experience with excellent time management.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of matters simultaneously.
- Client and s ervice-oriented , with consistent and demonstrated high levels of professionalism, ethics and integrity.
