Working in this area, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to facilitate compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As an Independence Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Perform personal independence compliance audits to test compliance with independence policy for partners and managers
• Day to day support of core Independence processes which are key operational activities
• Providing advice and guidance to Partners and staff to help them understand the complex nature of the independence rules including personal independence compliance and independence system support
• Working virtually with offshore team members in India
• Involvement in ad-hoc projects, including general support to other independence activities
• The role requires a Senior Associate who has a practical, thorough and positive approach to problem solving, good with details, confident in liaising with individuals at all levels throughout the firm, has a client service mindset and enjoys acquiri ng new kn owledge/technical skills
• Breadth and insight into the activities of the firm
• The ability to contribute directly to the firm achieving its performance goals, especially regarding growth, leading firm and quality
• An opportunity to develop a solid technical base and understanding of the independence rules the chance to be part of a solutions-focused, cohesive, vibrant team
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• Compliance/regulatoryexperience or audit experience is considered an advantage
• Knowledge of the financial sector and an understanding of public accounting firms, their services and the regulatory environment is considered an asset
• Post secondary-education degree, preferably in business, finance or accounting
• Audit experience or experience working in the accounting or regulatory field
• A focus on client service, with an ability to share and collaborate with others
• Good project management skills and strong database and research skills
• Judgment and problem-solving skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• A conscientious, ambitious team player, with good self-management skills
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset
