Job Description

WSP is currently seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Designer to join our Buildings Mechanical team at our Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Director, Mechanical Engineering, this position will be responsible for the plumbing design of a variety of institutional, light industrial, commercial, healthcare, and recreational buildings.

What you can expect to do here:

Develop design documents, plans, schematics, reports, and calculations in compliance with client standards, company standards, and applicable local code and regulation
Provide technical support to the design team and Project Managers
Provide knowledge of National Plumbing Code
Drafting of plumbing systems in Revit
On-site mechanical investigations, audits, and reviews
Writing technical and field investigation reports
Attend project design and construction meetings with clients and contractors.
Review equipment shop drawings and carry out construction administrative tasks.

What you'll bring to WSP:

Diploma from a technical university/college in Mechanical Technology or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge and experience of CSA Healthcare codes is an asset
Proven expertise using Revit
Knowledge of MS Office 365 software tools
Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and electrical drawings with minimum supervision
Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team environment
