PCS Inc. is looking for a full-time Project Manager based in Fort McMurray, AB, on a 10hr, 4-day work week, with a mix of remote and on-site work.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of infrastructure projects in alignment with client standards. This role requires collaboration with other departments to ensure that project resources, schedules, and costs are adhered to, while ensuring the safety, quality, and timely completion of deliverables. The Project Manager serves as the primary on-site liaison between PCS Inc. and stakeholders, contributing to solution design and operational excellence.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Contributing to and delivering projects within defined scope, schedule, and budget
- Coordinating project resources and workforce to ensure alignment with PCS Inc. and HSE standards
- Scheduling and overseeing PCS and subcontractor teams delivering infrastructure
- Addressing and resolving technical issues efficiently
- Overseeing commissioning and the successful handover of deliverables to clients
- Monitoring and controlling project expenditures, including staff, resources, and vendors
- Ensuring all project activities comply with safety policies and company procedures
- Managing multiple projects and identifying dependencies between them
- Supporting change management by estimating and tracking adjustments to budgets and resources
- Preparing and disseminating project information effectively across teams
To qualify, you will need a background in engineering (telecom or electrical preferred) and a valid driver’s license. A minimum of 4+ years of experience in an operational role, preferably within telecom infrastructure or oil and gas, will also be essential. Candidates must be able to pass a drug test and adapt to potential shift schedules.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Experience with Agile frameworks such as Suncor
- Familiarity with OSP infrastructure from telecom providers
- Knowledge of high-voltage or RF work, as well as microwave or copper pathways
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) with OSP specialty and/or Communication Technician
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project Information Management Tools
