WSP is seeking a Senior Project Controls Analyst to join our Buildings group, located at our Calgary office. Reporting to the Project Controls Director this position will be responsible for project cost and schedule management related tasks for various projects/programs.

- Work on highly complex matters and assignments of large scope, impact, and importance, where business acumen, leadership, and ingenuity are required
- Apply extensive in-depth and broad knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of complex assignments
- Provide guidance and management advice that has a large impact on cost, efficiency, compliance, service, and quality
- Exercises independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues and matters of significance, requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action
- Guide teams to solve significant problems/issues, including clarifying/ interpreting/analyzing complex information and developing recommendations for management consideration
- Development and maintenance of resource-loaded project schedules for multi-year projects in Primavera P6
- Plan and supervise the effort to establish milestones for complete projects or major portions of projects. Review project work activities to ensure support of project milestones
- Responsible for the development and total integration of the master schedule activities and individual schedules provided by third parties
- Identify schedule considerations and problems resulting from interdisciplinary or group restraints and interfaces
- Assist in the monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing schedule and status during all phases of the project, including analysis of any schedule deviations and corrective actions. Question subcontractors' schedules, while forecasting and trending completion target dates to ensure contractor plans are realistic and achievable.
- Develop cash curves based on control estimates and project schedules for cash forecasting and revenue draws
- Monitor and report critical path and schedule performance of the total project, assist with project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine the criticality of the schedule
- Develop, track, and monitor budgets as well as provide forecasts regularly
- Actively manage baseline budgets and work breakdown structure
- Maintain accurate reporting and tracking on projects to verify the planned value, actual cost, earned value, CPI, SPI, ETC and EAC and assess impacts for changes to baseline/estimates and new forecasted dates/performance
- Coordinate with project accountant and project biller and provide clear instructions to ensure budgets are correctly maintained in the system and invoicing is done accurately and on time and all necessary backup documentation is provided to the client to avoid payment delays
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Project Controls;
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems
- Experience in a consulting engineering environment is required.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Power BI, Primavera and MS Project
- Planning & Scheduling knowledge and experience
- Ability to quickly identify and understand project issues and opportunities and proactively provide options for solutions
- Ability to multitask, set priorities, and accommodate multiple requests from various sources in any given day
- A team player who thrives on working with other successful, energetic people
- An excellent communicator, with strong verbal, written and presentation skills
