About the OpportunityAvalon has an opportunity for a full-time Construction Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Calgary, AB office, with the exciting opportunity to work building projects across Calgary and surrounding communities.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the construction of multi-family projects, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for leading project teams and managing daily site operations, ensuring adherence to schedules, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating project scheduling with subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and inspectors
- Supervising and mentoring subordinate staff, including assigning and prioritizing tasks
- Leading weekly coordination meetings with subcontractor foremen to discuss requirements and schedules
- Implementing, monitoring, and driving the project schedule, proactively addressing potential issues
- Ensuring quality control standards are met by monitoring work and materials at various project stages
- Managing the Company's Health, Safety, and Environmental program, including safety reporting and inspections
- Maintaining comprehensive daily logs of job site activities, including visitor interactions and materials used
- Travelling between multiple job sites and managing workloads across individual projects
- Communicating with the project team to ensure efficient execution of tasks
Identifying and resolving problems and conflicts, organizing meetings, and cooperating with team members

About YouTo qualify, ideally, you must have 5+ years' of superintendent experience in residential construction, ideally with multi-family projects.
The following are required:
- Valid Driver’s License and a satisfactory driver’s abstract
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Demonstrated experience in carpentry, framing and fire-resistance ratings
- Ability to work in all weather
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Knowledge of building codes and safety requirements
- Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and scheduling software (Microsoft Project)
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of GANT scheduling
- Experience in taking and uploading digital photographs
- Demonstrated excellence in organization and priority management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
